Routine Histopathology

Routine histopathology is the standard method used in laboratories to study tissue samples under a microscope. It's a crucial part of diagnosing diseases, especially cancers.

Cytopathology

Cytopathology is the study of individual cells (rather than whole tissue sections) to diagnose diseases. It’s especially important for detecting cancers and infections.

Special stains

Special stains are used in histopathology and cytopathology when the routine H&E stain isn’t enough. They help highlight specific types of tissue elements, organisms, or chemical substances that are hard to see otherwise.

Immunohistochemistry

IHC is a technique that uses antibodies to detect specific antigens (proteins) in cells within a tissue section. It's SUPER useful for diagnosing cancers, identifying infectious agents, and classifying different types of cells.
